1987 BMW 528i 6-Speed overview and introduction
This 1987 BMW 528i is a right-hand-drive example that was sold new in the UK and modified with an E36 M3 Evo 3.2L inline-six and six-speed manual transmission before being featured on BaT in 2015. It was later imported to the US and sold on BaT in January 2018 before it was listed on BaT in March 2020. Over $15k of work following the current owner’s acquisition in 2024 included a valve adjustment, installing Fortune Auto coilovers, and replacing the instrument cluster odometer gears, radiator, alternator, heater valve, timing VANOS and timing tensioner gaskets, rear brake calipers, and rear pitman arms. The car is finished in Salmon Silver Metallic over Pacific Blue cloth upholstery, and additional equipment includes front sport seats, 16″ Style 5 wheels, E34 M5 brakes, and a 3.64:1 limited-slip differential. This modified E28 is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment with recent service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean North Carolina title. The body is finished in Salmon Silver Metallic (203) and retains European-market lighting and bumpers. An M Tech I rear spoiler was also added. Areas of rust are noted around the trunk seal, and additional photos of the paint and trim condition are viewable in the gallery below.
